Breif:                                                                                      Inspired by Interstellar, Glowing Gaia envisions harmony between architecture and nature. Part of Vancouver’s green urban initiative, this microhome promotes sustainability and affordability through compact, energy-efficient design. Home to environmental advocates Eila and Serius, it minimizes carbon impact while maximizing comfort — a small yet powerful symbol of hope for a more sustainable future.

Description:                                                                                   “We used to look up at the sky and wonder at our place in the stars. Now, we just look down and worry about our place in the dirt.” — Cooper, Interstellar (2014)

Inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, Glowing Gaia reimagines the relationship between architecture, humanity, and the planet. Set in Vancouver’s pioneering green urban initiative, this microhome prototype addresses sustainability and housing affordability through innovation and ecological design.

Home to Eila and Serius — two environmental advocates devoted to renewable energy and urban ecology — the project becomes a living experiment in low-impact living. With Kingspan’s advanced insulation technology, the home achieves exceptional energy efficiency and a minimal carbon footprint.
