This project is a high-rise building in Beirut that features a symbolic concept which stands out as a landmark and contributes positively to the metropolitan skyline and be readily recognizable.
This project was designed within the Deconstructivism Movement belonging to Contemporary Architecture. The building should have been conventional and monotonic but after a great explosion, it was struck by the impact therefore causing the creation of the cracking and reshaping of the outer building skin.
This is symbolic of the explosive event that happened in the area and marked the beginning of the Lebanese civil war. This transforms the granite cladding of the building into a metallic one, two different and opposite materials that stand in conflict on the facade of the building.
